Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says he expects the alcohol bans that we had in place last year in Alice Springs to be reinstated by the end of the week.
“Sources have confirmed to Sky News that the Dorelle Anderson report handed to the government recommends the Northern Territory government ‘urgently’ legislates amendments to its liquor act to impose alcohol restrictions in Central Australia, including in town camps,” Mr Clennell said.
“The report says this should remain in place until alcohol management plans are developed by the community if they choose to opt out of these restrictions.”
Mr Clennell said a federal source suggested Chief minister Natasha Fyles might be “after more money” from the Albanese government in return for re-implementing the alcohol ban.
