A 28-year-old male is in hospital after allegedly smashing a window to resist arrest

A 28-year-old male is in hospital after injuring himself while allegedly smashing a window in a bid to resist police.

Police say they went to the man’s home after he was identified on CCTV after allegedly attempting to steal clothing from a store in the town’s CBD and assaulting the owner.

Officials say the man barricaded himself in a bathroom and threw glass items before smashing the window.

Police then tasered the man and transported him to Alice Springs hospital where he is now in a stable condition.
