Jenna Ortega’s Golden Globes Bob Is Undeniably Good

Jenna Ortega shot to fame as Wednesday Addams in the new Netflix reboot, Wednesday, and swiftly made her sullen character’s signature hairstyle—full fringe and long braids—her own. So much so that it’s difficult to envision any other haircut on the actor. Or at least, it was before she walked the Golden Globes 2023 red carpet last night.

Jenna’s style was the sum of many good parts. Firstly, the cut itself is practically perfection. A mussed-up, choppy bob with lots of texture, it’s the kind of style that speaks for itself. Thanks to all those shorter layers, it boasts movement and body without looking too “done.” Meanwhile, those graduated curtain bangs frame Ortega’s high cheekbones and lend a rock ‘n’ roll edge to the look. 

The length is also excellent. Skimming her shoulders, it isn’t too short to be tied up on off days, but it is short enough to look directional and cool. Her hairstylist David Stanwell also knows his way around effortless texture, earning an A+ for that undone finish.
