Just over a month after getting an update from producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Bad Boys 4 has officially been confirmed by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The buddy cop franchise stars Smith and Lawrence as Miami Police Detective Lieutenants Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett as they investigate a variety of high-stakes drug networks running through their town, along with their own dysfunctional partnership. Produced by Bruckheimer, the Bad Boys franchise has been a fan-favorite across all three films, with the long-awaited threequel Bad Boys For Life actually scoring the best reviews yet for the series and its highest-grossing at over $426 million grossed against its $90 million production budget.
After two years of teasing the two would reunite, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have taken to their Instagrams to confirm Bad Boys 4 is officially happening.
The duo announced the sequel in a video shot by Smith in which he excitedly travels to Lawrence’s house, hinting at the announcement to come by playing Murphy Lee’s “Shake Ya Tailfeather” track made popular by Bad Boys 2. Smith and Lawrence proceed to have a humorous interaction of struggling to land on a title for the fourth movie, realizing they incidentally used up the perfect title with the third film, Bad Boys For Life.
